SEC Sets July 10 Hearing for General Solicitation Rules Under JOBS Act

u_s_sec_logoThe SEC seems to making an attempt to move forward with the rules under the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act. (JOBS Act). The SEC announced that in an Open Meeting scheduled for tomorrow, July 10, they will consider:

  • whether to adopt amendments to eliminate the prohibition against general solicitation and general advertising in certain securities offerings;
  • whether to propose amendments to Reg D, Form D  and Rule 156 to enhance the SEC’s ability to evaluate changes  and developments in practices; and
  • whether to adopt amendments to disqualify “felons and bad actors” from reliance the exemption, as mandated in the Dodd-Frank Act.

The SEC’s open meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., in the Auditorium, Room L-002, at the SEC’s headquarters.
